Welcome to Netherwood Lodge
Room to breathe, close to everything
A beautifully appointed self catering lodge for four, set amid the open landscapes of Dumfries and Galloway.
Wake to countryside views
Spend the day exploring castles, forests, gardens and the Solway coast. Return to the warmth of the wood-burning stove and settle in for an unhurried evening at Netherwood Lodge.
Set at the entrance to Netherwood House, the lodge offers the peace and atmosphere of a rural Scottish retreat without leaving you far from the restaurants, shops and historic streets of Dumfries.

A quieter kind of Scottish escape
Netherwood Lodge has been designed for guests who value space, comfort and a genuine sense of place.
Inside, the accommodation is contemporary, warm and uncluttered. The spacious open-plan living area brings the kitchen, dining space and sitting room together, creating an inviting setting in which to cook, talk and relax. Underfloor heating keeps the lodge comfortable throughout the seasons, while the wood-burning stove provides a natural focal point on cooler evenings.
Two generous bedrooms and two shower rooms make the lodge particularly well suited to couples travelling together, a small family or friends seeking a relaxed countryside break.
Outside, the garden offers space to sit, dine and enjoy the changing light across the surrounding landscape.
Designed for easy, comfortable stays
Made for days spent outdoors
Dumfries and Galloway rewards exploration.
Walk through ancient woodland, cycle forest trails, watch wintering birds beside the Solway, visit romantic ruined castles or spend a day discovering the region’s gardens, galleries and historic houses.
Back at the lodge, a useful storeroom and drying area provides somewhere to leave walking boots, outdoor clothing and bicycles before you settle into the warmth.

Your own corner of southern Scotland
Netherwood Lodge is not about elaborate formality. Its appeal lies in thoughtful comfort, generous space and a setting that allows you to slow down.
Breakfast can stretch into the morning. Plans can change with the weather. Evenings can be spent outdoors in the last of the light or beside the stove with a bottle of wine and nowhere else to be.
This is a place from which to explore, but also a place in which to stop.
